We pride ourselves on being founded on principles.
The founders of Storyocity knew one thing when they began the journey of making this company: they wanted the company to have high goals. In order to achieve those goals, they laid out principles that helped define the brand, and guide the machine.
We’re guided by 3 main principles.
But there are more than just 3 things that make our team and brand what it is. Similar to the United States Constitution, we amend, change, and even remove some principles as the company culture grows and changes. It’s always a collaborative effort when we adjust what defines us, but the core 3 have never really changed.
Principle 1: Using story, inspiring an emotion, or just causing a feeling; create content that creates a connection between brand and audience.
At the core of who we are, are fine artists looking to create content that connects with an audience. We believe the most powerful thing in entertainment, storytelling, and marketing is when the audience connects with what they are watching. It can be a deep and meaningful connection, or it can be a surface level light-hearted connection. No matter the type, we think that connection is everything in what we do. When we connect, we receive the message, we internalize the information, and we are much more likely to act.
Principle 2: Be intentional with your work; we don’t rely on luck to be this good. (Think like a designer.)
During the creation of Storyocity, the founders spent a long time crafting the process of how we create, and how we serve our clients. Our process is built to be rigged enough to push the artists, creatives, and makers to be the best they can be, to be intentional with their work, but also leave enough wiggle room for lightning to strike and change everything. We often say “we don’t rely on luck to be this good,” and it’s true down to our core. We are deeply dedicated to our craft, and think the best work comes from having strong vision and a master plan (everything starts with a great design). Once those two things are established, everyone works towards the common goal. Nearly everything happens by design.
Principle 3: Do your best work always. Project size and client weight have zero impact on our dedication to our craft.
One of the first commonalities in the co-founders is a deep seeded drive for quality. That need for quality necessitates a respect and dedication to the craft. Everyone at Storyocity firmly believes that you are only as good as your last project. Therefore, client or project prestige has no impact on our dedication to what makes us (which is dedication to quality). We’re not satisfied until we’ve done all we can for every project, every client, every time. It’s the Storyocity way.
